WHO YOU RIDIN’ WIT?

I think it’s fair to say that strippers, escorts, adult entertainers, models and any kind of Sex Worker you can think of has taken a taxi at one point or the other. This news can change the game. New York City’s Taxi and Limousine commission gave cab drivers who own their own vehicles the right to veto the ads placed atop of their vehicles. Yes you guessed it; the ads in question are those of strip clubs.

Knowing and understanding how much money strippers spend on taxi’s to and from work, I’m appalled at these religious zealots proposed Armageddon. I respect the driver’s plight in trying to serve their lord to the best of their ability but the argument reeks with contradiction. Do you turn away the stripper coming out of a club at 4 a.m. who happily tips you the extra twenty for making stops before delivering her safely home? How about liquor ads? So you feel the same about them?

Point being that in New York City, the fast pace of the night life is on display in each and every way. I agree that small children and men and women of certain faiths shouldn’t be subjected to ads of working conditions that make them uncomfortable. Rooftop ads are a measly $125 a month. The adult entertainment industry makes 13 billion a year. Strippers and strip clubs alone account for 2 billion.

The bottom line is this- “Make them respect you”. Make conscious decisions on how and who you spend your money with. Take a stand and boycott yellow cabs that don’t respect how you get your money. A lot of luxury car services would love your business. Plan ahead and avoid yellow taxis until they respect who they ridin’ with.
