STOP HATIN’ ON ME

2011 "American Idol" Finalist Party - Arrivals

Once again Sex Workers or the profession of sex work is being slaughtered by the media. Did you hear about the American Idol contestant, Naima Adedapo? Allegedly she danced at a noon defunct club called Rickey’s in her hometown of Milwaukee. Whether it’s true or not, is irrelavent. Why is stripping so taboo that it’s headline news for America? I understand that American idol as a brand has to protect it’s imagine, but for crying out loud don’t do it at the expense of SexWorkers.

In the past, contestants have hid prior arrest or drug abuse to enhance their chances at stardom. When did stripping become a felony? America has a history of making a mockery of the people they label as outcasts and waywards of society. The truth rears it’s ugly head everything on of these politicians or government officials gets caught with their pants down in a strip club, or even worst when their phone numbers magically appear in the records of escort services nationwide.

To my homie, Naima, stand your square. If American Idol can’t appreciate your artistic endeavors, tell ‘em stop hating on you and keep it moving on your terms. Independent of with a major the cream always rises to the top.
