A PIMP THAT LOVES HIS HO!

Lloyd-Mackey-Anthony-Campisi-1966

In 1966 a crime took place that involved 24 year old Sex Worker, Brenda Nelson, her pimp and Anthony Campisi, 36, a New York City police officer. The cop was working undercover when he approached Brenda and agreed to pay for services. Once he announced she was under arrest, she screamed and her pimp, Llyod Mackey came to her rescue stabbing the officer to death before he could pull out his firearm. Both pimp and ho were charged with murder of a cop during his official duties.

Brenda and Lloyd went to trial and after 27 days, the jury convicted Lloyd of first degree murder. Lloyd was sentenced to 20 years to life instead of the death penalty. He caught a break believe it or not. Keep in mind, this is 1966. Black people had just started drinking out the same water fountains as whites. Racial tensions in New York City sparked the civil rights movement. Say the headlines with your eyes closed for the full effect—BLACK PIMP KILLS WHITE POLICE OFFICER. Now picture 1966- kinda ugly rah? This murder took place at the St. Clair Hotel. Today the St. Clair is the American Inn.

Lloyd went for parole in 1986 but was shot down. He would continue to get shot down for the next 12 years. In 1998 after serving 32 years, Lloyd was paroled and stayed outta the spotlight ever since. He was 28 at the time of his arrest and he came out at age 60. I doubt Brenda kept it funky with him during his incarceration.

Know-It-All’s Jewel of the week: it’s alright to love your ho to death, but pimpin’ is illegal and doesn’t afford you the license to kill.
